HEREFORD are waiting decision about defender Jimmy Oates after he went on trial at Exeter City.

The Bulls defender was listed by the League Two club as a trialist for their 3-1 friendly victory against Bideford AFC this evening.

Hereford manager Pete Beadle hopes the defender will return for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Sporting Khalsa but is already looking at a replacement on loan.

Ryan Green is also currently missing from the Hereford squad after feeling unwell.

"We're in the early stages of speaking to a club about a centre-half coming in on loan because we are light defensive wise with Jimmy (Oates) away and Ryan (Green) not available at the moment," said Beadle following his sides 3-0 victory at Cirencester Town tonight.

"The back four have had to play 90 minutes tonight which probably wasn't ideal but they have come through fine.

"We are looking at one capable of playing, who is mobile, reads the game well. The same everybody looks for in a centre-half.

"It might take a week to get done but he has got experience at this level already so we wil wait and see.

"First and foremost he has got to want to come and if he does then that will be great.

"Jimmy is away down on the South coast at the moment. If they've listed him as playing then you wouldn't begrudge him.

"The three years he has been here has been here he has been fantastic. At the moment we see it that he is away for a short spell and then hopefully he will be back for Saturday.

"We will wait and see what happens. It's not a difficult situation, it's just one that came about very quickly."

Beadle was also due to make a decision on the four trialists after tonight’s game.
