YEAR 6 pupils and teachers, Mrs Yarnold, Mrs Jefferson and Mrs Dixon of St Peter’s Primary School, Bromyard, hosted CAP Money in school last month.

Kina and Helen gave the pupils three lessons from CAP Money Kids which teaches them how people earn money, what families spend their money on, how to create a budget, why it's important to save and give, and the impact debt has on families.

Parents have been delighted that their children have learned these important values which will hopefully set a firm foundation for their future handling of money.

When asked for feedback, the pupils thought the most important thing they learned was how to spend wisely and how to budget so as not to get into debt.

The National Curriculum now makes financial education part of citizenship for 11-16 year-olds and maths for 5-14 year-olds in the National Curriculum. CAP Money Kids and CAP Money Youth are excellent courses designed to teach pupils key money management skills in an engaging and effective way.

CAP (Christians Against Poverty) partners with local churches across the country to provide free educational services and practical solutions to the issues which create poverty – money management, unemployment, life skills, addiction, and debt. (www.capuk.org)
