Paralympic aces Danielle Brown and Jack Rutter paid a visit to a Hereford primary school to inspire the next generation of sports stars.

Archery gold medallist Danielle Brown and seven-a-side footballer Jack Rutter spent an afternoon with pupils at Sutton Primary Academy on Tuesday, June 19.

Both stars gave classes to pupils before Danielle delivered an assembly where she spoke about how she has overcame complex regional pain syndrome to become a gold medal winner in archery at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Around 125 pupils took part, ranging from Year 1 to Year 6. Led by Danielle and Jack, the children ran circuits, did press ups and star jumps.

Teacher Grace Harrison described the children's reaction when they listened to Danielle's story: "They sat in amazement. You could have heard a pin drop, they were really inspired."

She added: "Even the adults were spellbound."

The event was organised by Sports for Schools, a national organisation that brings top athletes into schools to inspire children to get involved with sport.
