Ed De Giles takes double victory

Sexy Beast took the Little Marcle trainers sixth win of the season in the 4.40pm at Haydock on Wednesday and De Giles had to wait just four hours for his next victory when Treacherous clinched the 8.40pm at Kempton.

It was three-year-old Sexy Beast's first victory of the season after being beaten into second twice this campaign.

In the Play Live Roulette At 188Bet Casino Handicap over one mile and six furlongs Sexy Beast, under Pat Cosgrave for owners Tight Lines Partnership, cruised into the lead two furlongs out and left his opponents behind drawing away from his rivals as the finish line approached.

Meanwhile stable-mate Treacherous returned to Kempton, where he also won the previous week over the same seven furlong distance.

Ridden by Callum Shephard and owned by the Woodham Walter Partnership the four-year-old had a tough race against some older horses in the 100% Profit Boosts At 32Redsport.com Handicap.

After his win a week earlier Treacherous' handicap mark was off 71, increased from 65 the previous week.

Early on the De Giles' trained horse was behind the leaders but increased momentum two furlongs from the finish and led coming into the final furlong.

Despite runner-up Nezar drawing level as the line approached it was Treacherous who found more at the finish to clinch victory.

"Sexy Beast has been progressing nicely through the season and stepped up and won very easily," said De Giles.

"We have been quite busy with him so will give him a minimum of three weeks now before we run him. He's come out of the race very well and I think the horse will continue to progress from here.

"Treacherous, we know he loves Kempton so we were sort of forced to run him again so quickly which was a bit of a punt but it paid off. He will have a minimum of two weeks off before he runs again, ideally three, but we will have to look for a suitable opportunity for him.

"I again think that he will progress from here."
