THE Longtown Mountain Rescue Team carried a teenage boy for more than two miles across the Black Mountains.
The 14-year-old suffered an ankle injury while trekking on a group camping trip on Wednesday night.
Gwent Police asked the Herefordshire volunteers for help and they set off for the group's camp before carrying the teen on a stretcher across difficult terrain.
The boy was subsequently taken to Neville Hall hospital by the team Landrover for further treatment.
Team Leader Luke Lewis paid tribute to the Longtown team members for their professionalism and teamwork during the rescue.
