BLITHE Spirit by Noel Coward will be performed by the newly formed Presteigne Shoestring Players in the Assembly Rooms, Presteigne from June 29 - July 1.
It is a comedy about a writer, Charles Condomine, who is writing a book in which one of the characters is involved in spiritualism.
To find out more about the subject, he and his second wife, Ruth, invite a medium, Madame Arcati, to dinner together with two other guests, Dr and Mrs Bradman.
After dinner, they hold a seance during which Madame Arcati accidentally materialises the ghost of Charles' first wife, Elvira. This leads to all sorts of hilarious complications.
There is also a maid, Edith, who is more significant to the plot than first appears.
The cast of seven includes several familiar faces from other Presteigne stage productions.
Two of the cast appeared in the same play some time ago at John Beddoes school Presteigne.
They are joined by Paul Heseltine who is one of the leading lights in Teme Spirits, Knighton. He has very bravely taken over at short notice the huge part of the male lead, as the actor originally playing the role was indisposed.
The play is directed by Frank Cosgrove who, before moving to this area, directed several plays with various groups in Cumbria.
All seats are unreserved. Tickets £6 from Winnie's newsagents, High Street, Presteigne.
