THE sunshine appeared and so did the people as an open gardens day near Ross-on-Wye attracted hundreds of visitors.
Five gardens in Brampton Abbotts welcomed those in the community and many from further afield during one of the warmest afternoons of the year to date.
A total of 322 people made their way to the small village just over a mile from Ross-on-Wye.
The event raised £2,810 for St Michael's Hospice through entry fees, the sale of refreshments and donations.
'We were delighted with the success of the Open Gardens event at Brampton Abbotts.
'The community turned out in force to support the day and we hope everyone who attended enjoyed their visit and possibly went home with some ideas for their own garden.
'Our particular thanks to five garden owners whose hard work was rewarded with splendid, welcoming gardens.'
