MORRISONS in Ross-on-Wye has scrapped its car parking charges just two weeks after introducing them.

The supermarket decided to introduce a £2 charge to park for two and a half hours on May 21 but customers shopping in the supermarket could get a refund if they spent more than £5.

The supermarket said it was responding to customers' complaints that they could not find a car parking space while shopping there.

However, this was soon changed to include a 30-minute grace period and now the charges have been scrapped completely.

A Morrisons spokeswoman said: ""After listening to our customers, the decision has been made to suspend parking charges."

She said customers have complained about the charges and they therefore decided to stop charging people to park.

They apologised for any inconvenience and stressed that the two and a half hour limit still applies.
