A FORMER Hereford Cathedral School pupil is taking on an epic fundraising cycle from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
Kate Evans of Brecon, is taking part in a 600km West Coast cycle ride in September for Velindre Cancer Centres.
She will be cycling between 60 to 127 miles per day over six days as part of an excursion of fundraisers including Becky James and Shane Williams.
Kate was inspired by someone from her school who, despite having stage four cancer, cycled from London to Copenhagen covering 2,000km.
Kate said: "I wanted to do something to keep her legacy going, as well as raise money for a cancer charity".
She has organised a sports fundraising dinner at The Castle Hotel in Brecon on June 29. It will include a Q&A session with three times Olympian and gold medalist Crista Cullen, former Wales rugby player Jennifer Davies with 74 caps and Maddie Davies ex-GB and current Wales taekwondo player.
Tickets are on sale for £35 each and include two courses. There will be a raffle, auction and a disco.
