A 66-YEAR-old woman who died in a car crash near Leominster has been named.

Susan Thatcher, from Shrewsbury, died at the scene of a crash on the A49 at 7.40pm between Leominster and Stockton on May 13.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned by Herefordshire Coroner's Court.

Police said a Peugeot Partner Tepee and a BMW were travelling in the direction of Ludlow from Leominster while a Skoda Octavia was being driven in the opposite direction.

The BMW and Skoda are understood to have crashed before the BMW collided with the Peugeot.

Mrs Thatcher was driving the Skoda.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are keen to speak with anyone who saw the incident or saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.
