NOMINATIONS have already started to arrive for the Hereford Times’ first ever Health and Social Care Awards.

The awards, which will focus on the excellent work carried out by individuals and teams across the county, were launched this week and we are delighted to announce that seven nominations have already been received.

We want to recognise the hard work, dedication, innovation and care delivered across the health and social care sector and the awards will celebrate the people who make the difference.

There is still plenty of time to make more nominations for those care professionals who make such a difference to the lives of so many.

The 12 categories are the care team, the care hero, the care home worker, the home care worker, the good nurse, the outstanding contribution to social care, the care trainer, the dignity in care, the dementia carer, the palliative/end of life carer; the care innovator and the care employer.

As well as the nominations, a number of sponsors have already backed the project and include Herefordshire Council, St Michael’s Hospice, Katherine Harriet Bespoke Home Care, Western Power Distribution, Hoople and Rotherwood Healthcare.

There will be an awards ceremony when the winners and runners-up are revealed, followed by a special supplement in the Hereford Times highlighting all the successful entrants.

Nominations will be accepted until August 10 while the awards ceremony will be held in September.
