EARLIER this month a group of members from St Ethelbert Probus met the Countess of Wessex on her visit to the Cider Museum.

She was most interested in the Probus organisation.

If you would like to know about St Ethelbert Probus and what they do, then you are most welcome to attend the meetings.

The club meets every Tuesday at the Cider Museum between 9.30am and 11.30am for coffee, followed by a varied and entertaining programme of speakers.

Over the next few weeks they have: June 5, with Richard Jordan, Glen Miller - What People Don't Know?; June 26, with local historian and photographer Derek Foxton, Hereford in the Second World War; on August 14 there will be an Open Day for guests, when Mike Watkins and Wilma Hayes from In the Sticks Talks will enlighten everyone with information about The Titanic - the Things You Didn't Know.

This year on October 10 they are celebrating their 40th year with a concert at Holy Trinity Church, in Whitecross, where they will be entertained by The Britten Singers.

Members represent all aspects of professional and business careers (Probus), as well as having a wide range of hobbies and pastimes. They enjoy a variety of day trips, celebration meals out, skittles evening and a summer barbecue.

If you would like to join the merry band, go along to the Open Day or any other meeting and experience a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Contact details on stethelbertprobus.uk
