A YOUNG boy used a BB gun to shoot at a 20-year-old while demanding cigarettes during a robbery in Hereford.

Police said at 11.45pm on Saturday, May 5 a 20-year-old man was walking on the Great Western Way footpath, locally known as 'the lines', in the direction of Newton Farm.

As the victim approached the bridge over Belmont Road he was approached by a boy and girl.

Police said: "The boy demanded that the victim hand over his cigarettes. It is believed that the boy was in possession of a black and blue BB gun which he used to shoot at the victim several times.

"The boy is described as around 12-years-old wearing a blue top and tracksuit bottoms. The girl is described as around 14-years-old."

Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
