IRELAND under-19 captain Dara O'Shea has dreams of playing for the senior side, but first could be called upon to help Hereford FC to lift the Evo-Stik Southern Premier title.

The 19-year-old, from Dublin, who has been on loan from West Bromwich Albion since the start of the season has made a big impact at Edgar Street.

With Ryan Green facing a three match ban the youngster could be instrumental in manager Pete Beadle's side during the next month.

O'Shea has been out of Hereford action since the Basingstoke home match after captaining his country in the European Under-19 Championships in Portugal.

His side drew 1-1 against Slovakia and won 3-0 against Kosovo before losing 4-0 against Portugal leaving them second in the group behind the hosts in the group.

"I'm back now and looking forward to promotion and focusing on Hereford," said O'Shea.

"The lads have been winning so the manager is not going to change a winning team but I'm feeling good now. It is the first tournament that I've captained Ireland which was a really proud moment for me and my dad was over watching and it was really nice to be putting on that green shirt again.

"It's a totally different type of football and it is fast and everybody is on the counter attack and the ball is on the floor a little bit more. All the sides liked to play Slovakia were a bit tougher and Portugal a bit faster but it was all good experience.

"Every kid growing up wants to play for their country and I love my country as well so it would be a dream to play for their senior squad.

"It's definitely different and nice to play both sides of it. I enjoy this (Evo-Stik Premier) style which is just a bit different, I enjoy it as a defender and that is why I have come here. I've loved my time here, the fans have been unbelievable and the way the club is run.

"The title is what we want, nothing less."
