ONE of Herefordshire’s top tourist attractions is set to attract more international visitors after film crews arrived this week.

Large wagons containing filming equipment arrived at the grounds of Eastnor Castle near Ledbury and the area has been tightly guarded by security guards.

The Hereford Times believes that the upcoming American television drama series Succession is currently being filmed at the grounds of the attraction.

The show, which boasts Will Ferrell as an executive producer, is shooting for its first series consisting of 10 episodes.

No air date has been determined but the show is due to appear on premium satellite network HBO in America.

Eastnor Castle has a history of film and television makers using the venue over the last 40 years.

The BBC have regularly filmed programmes there including Blue Peter, Antiques Roadshow and Bargain Hunt.

Madonna also used the venue while directing her film W.E which was released in 2012.

Also during 2010 the American reality competition television programme, The Amazing Race, filmed a number of tasks of a medieval theme at the castle.

More recently the grounds of Eastnor Castle were used by Cliff Richard for his sold-out concert last summer while also playing hosts to events throughout the year.
