HEREFORD have reached the summit of the Evo-Stik South table for the first time after comfortably beating Dunstable Town 4-0.
Rob Purdie, Lance Smith, Ryan Green and Eliot Richards scored the goals, while previous leaders King's Lynn Town could only draw 1-1 at Banbury United.
Hereford made one change from the team that dramatically beat Biggleswade Town; Cameron Pring coming in for James Bowen at left back.
The Bulls went close to opening the scoring six minutes in, but Jamie Bird rattled the crossbar.
However, Pete Beadle’s side did take the lead in the 26th minute when Rob Purdie stabbed the ball home after being set up by Mike Symons.
And it was 2-0 just six minutes later when Lance Smith slotted home when through on goal.
Purdie, who hadn’t scored this season prior to today, then had a chance to make it 3-0 but was denied, before Smith rattled the crossbar with a header just before half time.
Hereford sealed the win with two further goals after the break.
First, Ryan Green nodded home after Dara O’Shea headed across a corner with 13 minutes remaining before Eliot Richards fired home in stoppage time.
Hereford are a point clear of King's Lynn with three games in hand.
They are next in action at home to St Neots Town on Tuesday night.
