AN appeal has been launched to raise £2,000 to give Hereford murder victim Robert Eacock the ‘send-off he deserves’.
Friends have started a Just Giving page in an attempt to raise the money so that his six children can ‘say goodbye to their daddy in the way they want to’.
Mr Eacock, 33, died in Hereford County Hospital after being stabbed in the leg while making his way along Commercial Street on January 29.
Anthony Boyd, who is 22 and from Willenhall, near Wolverhampton, has been charged with Mr Eacock’s murder.
He is yet to enter a plea and Worcester Crown Court was told last week that a trial could take place in the summer.
Writing on the Just Giving website, Scott Gillespie said Mr Eacock was a loving dad, son, brother and a friend to many.
He said Mr Eacock lost his mother shortly before he was killed.
“This has impacted the family deeply, especially the children,” Mr Gillespie added.
“Any kind donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.”
The appeal is seeking to raise £2,000 and, so far, £300 has been donated.
