Police investigating the murder of a woman in Hereford have released her name.

They went to a house in Highmore Street, Hereford, at around 10.20pm on Tuesday and found the body of 59-year-old Julie Clark.

A post-mortem examination has revealed she died from stab wounds.

A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday remains in hospital.

Superintendent Sue Thomas of West Mercia Police said: "Our thoughts are with Julie's family and friends and specialist police officers are continuing to support them.

"The family has asked to be allowed to come to terms with their loss without intrusion at this very difficult time."
