EMERGENCY services were called to Special Metals Wiggin this afternoon.

Police officers and the ambulance service attended Holmer Road in Hereford at around 3pm.

An ambulance spokesman said: "A male patient was suffering with mental health issues."

Police attended the scene first and an ambulance arrived on scene afterwards.

The ambulance service experienced a very busy day today. The service forecasts how many calls it would normally expect for this time of year and as of 4pm today calls were 27 percent above this forecast.

An ambulance spokesman said the police conveyed the patient from the scene.

It is believed the patient, who is thought to work for the company, was taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said: “At approximately 2.40pm yesterday (Tuesday, 2 January), West Mercia Police received a call from the ambulance service following concerns for the welfare of a man at a business premises on Holmer Road, Hereford.

“Officers attended the scene and located a man in his 30s who was in distress.
