A COUNTY short mat bowling missed out on yet another title after being on the losing side in the County Fours Championship.
Harold Aubrey was competing in his third final of the season for Weston, but his team lost 8-7 to Aston Ingham.
Rita Hancock, the Aston Ingham skip, won her second consecutive Fours title, while Aubrey will be looking for his first title in the Pairs competition.
Hancock teamed up with Dean Rudman, Mike Conway and Terry Griffiths and built up a strong 8-0 lead in the first three ends.
However, Weston, who also featured Gill and Tim Rigden and Betty Aubrey, started their comeback and won all the remaining five ends.
But with a tight measure by the umpire determining the result of the eighth and final end, Weston remained a tantalising one shot short.
