LEDBURY'S annual Civic Service held at St Michael's and All Angels Church had a theme this year of thankfulness.

Visiting mayors, councillors, dignitaries, representatives from a range of organisations and other guests processed up the fabled cobbled street led by Clive Gunn the town crier on a day blessed with sunshine.

In a packed church there were uplifting hymns, wonderful music from the Ledbury Brass Band and David Kettle and organist Phillip, poetry, readings, presentations from Eastnor, Ledbury and John Masefield Schools and St Michael's young church.

Rev Mathew Clark delivered a thought provoking sermon.

The collection was for Salters Hill, Cllr Elaine Fieldhouse's chosen charity for her mayoral year.

Delicious refreshments were served in the Community Hall which provided an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the benefits, opportunities and advantages of living in the vibrant town of Ledbury.

Mayor Elaine said "Congratulations to everyone for making the day such a success, with huge thanks to all those who attended and for the wonderful people of Ledbury and the environs for their continued support."
