ANYONE who recognises clothes found in a suitcase at a Leominster property by police could help establish whether a crime has been committed.

Officers had executed a warrant at a house on Etnam Street in July when they discovered the suitcase which contained various items of clothing – and are not believed to belong to anyone at the property.

Police are now appealing for anyone who recognises the clothes to contact them as they might be able to help establish if an offence has happened.

Sergeant Benjamin Pearson says: "At the moment, we're trying to find out where these clothes belong and if an offence has taken place. Any relevant information offered to us by members of the Leominster community will be treated seriously, and could prove very helpful.

"Close communication with local people - who are our eyes and ears on the ground - helps us to build up a picture of what is happening in communities across Herefordshire. That enables us to better tackle crime, and serve the public."

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident reference number 364 of July 3.

Officers say they also hope to reunite the clothes with their rightful owners in due course.
