A VILLAGE community came together to help clear the way after a tree fell down across a road.
The tree fell down in Michaelchurch Escley during the night as the wind picked up across the county.
It was blocking the way to Michaelchurch Escley Primary School.
Deputy headteacher, Gary Crocker, said: "A rather large tree came down in the night, blocking the way to the school but it was cleared by ten past eight thanks to a brilliant community effort.
"There is lots of tree debris on all the roads though so people need to take care and wind gusts are still very strong."
