THE popularity of one author has prompted event organisers to search for a bigger venue.

Deborah Moggach, the writer behind hits including The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, had been due to speak at the Church of St. Thomas a Becket in Huntington.

But such is the demand that the acclaimed author's talk ‘Adventures in the Screen Trade’ will now go ahead at Huntington Village Hall from 7.30pm on September 16.

Jane Moyle, a Trustee of the Friends of St. Thomas a Becket Church, said: “We are not at all surprised that we have had to switch to a larger venue for Deborah’s talk.

"It is a shame that we cannot use our beautiful church on this occasion, but the demand for this talk has reached record proportions and Huntington Village Hall can take more people.

The talk comes at an exciting time for fans of the Presteigne-based writer whose book ‘Tulip Fever’, featuring Judi Dench, Cara Delevingne and Tom Hollander, is due to be launched in the UK on October 1.

"We are delighted that we will be meeting Deborah in person as she tells us of her adventures in Hollywood and beyond,” added Jane.

To attend the talk, which also includes a question and answer session, book signing and wine and canapés, visit huntingtonchurch.co.uk or call Fiona Shone on 01544 370391.
