A lively discussion is set to be held next Wednesday on whether or not Herefordshire would be better off becoming "part of Wales".

Ben Proctor, from The Open Data Institute in Cardiff, is set to lead the two hour debate from 7:30pm.

He believes Herefordshire should enter into a Free Association with Wales where the two sides could work together on social and political issues and co-operate in each other's interests.

The discussion will cover the benefits of doing so, how it would work and how it could be made a reality.

The Open Data Institute is a non-profit limited by guarantee company, co-founded in 2012 by the inventor of the world wide web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

They campaign for everyone to use open data to improve social, environmental and economical issues.

The debate will get underway from 7.30pm at De Koffee Pot at Left Bank in Hereford.
