Following four sold-out editions, Hellensmusic returns to the village of Much Marcle from Wednesday, May 3 to Sunday, May 7 for five days of world-class concerts and masterclasses in the charming setting of Hellens, one of England’s oldest manor houses.
Quickly establishing its reputation for bringing the finest music-making to the heart of rural Herefordshire, the festival will feature performances by celebrated pianist Christian Blackshaw with a programme featuring Mozart and Schumann, and a group of exceptional musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
This year also brings a special opening event with the award-winning Cantabile Girls’ Choir from the Hereford Cathedral School and the promise of unexpected musical pairings and unforgettable tunes at the festival’s first ever pub concert (Feathers Hotel, Ledbury).
The Hellensmusic Masterclass Programme is run by the festival's guest artists and offers exceptional learning opportunities to some of the most talented music students in the UK. Masterclasses are open to the public - no need to book, just show up.
On Sunday, May 7 there will be a concert by the students of the Masterclass Programme
