Singer songwriter and acoustic guitarist Chris Quinn has been breaking through onto the national scene after receiving glowing reviews for last year's debut solo release Across The Divide, and he'll be making three appearances locally in the next few weeks.
For his spring European solo tour Chris’s show promises to cover a wide range of acoustic music alongside his own material. From traditional and contemporary British folk to bluegrass flat picking and from finger style delta blues and swing guitar songs to instrumental solo guitar pieces. Maverick Magazine named him "A master of the acoustic guitar and a quality songwriter" and Mark Radcliffe has been playing tracks from the album on the flagship BBC Radio 2 Folk show!
When not playing his own brand of solo acoustic folk and roots music Chris also performs regularly as an accompanying guitarist for some of the world's very best gypsy jazz guitarists, most notably as a regular member of the Robin Nolan Trio (George Harrison's favourite guitarist) and with gypsy legends Paulus Schafer and Mozes Rosenberg.
Catch Chris at the Wild Hare Club (wildhareclub.com) on Saturday at De Koffie Pot; at Part-y-Seal in Grosmont (partyseal.co.uk/events) on Saturday, April 22 at 7pm and with the Robin Nolan Trio at The Courtyard on Thursday, May 18 (01432 340555 or courtyard.org.uk).
