THE award winning construction company behind the £4m development at Colwall CE Primary School has "gone local" with its choice of landscapers.

Ecological Landscape of Malvern has been picked by national giants Kier to work on the new school in Mill Lane, Colwall. The school has been housed in temporary accommodation since September 2014 and the build of the new school will provide a new learning environment for children and staff.

Ecological Landscape teamed up with Kier after a Meet the Buyer event with the Hereford Growth Hub. Local subcontractors were encouraged to register their interest to help with £50m of new work for the construction group across Hereford, with the aim to keep suppliers as local as possible. Ecological Landscape director Claire Edgecombe, who lives in Colwall, said “We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of such an exciting project, especially one so local to us. The school is an integral part of the village we can’t wait to see the difference the new development will make to the community.”

The project team includes Ecological Landscape, The Kier Group and Quattro Design Architects. Ecological Landscape has clients both locally and nationwide. Recent local projects include the Worcester Six Business Park development, landscaping for the new sport’s hall improvement at King’s School, Hawford which has already achieved an Environmental Performance silver award for consideration to environmental elements and the current development of Diglis playing fields for Worcester City Council.
