ON the afternoon of Thursday, November 10, the Mayoress of Bromyard and Winslow Jan Scrine will be introducing Mrs Martha Dewhurst, who has deigned to travel all the way from the 1880s to regale good folk with “tales of empire and afternoon tea”.
The venue is the Inn on 19-21 High Street, Bromyard HR7 4AA, from 3pm – 4.30pm.
A donation of £5 includes scones with jam and cream and a cup of Twining’s finest, in support of the Mayor’s charities.
Tickets can be obtained in advance from Sue at the Inn; telephone 01885 489996 to secure your seat. For those wishing to partake of something stronger, there will also be a cash bar.
In addition, the Post Office on 6 Church St, Bromyard HR7 4DP is holding a coffee morning on November 15 for the same good causes, with delicious cakes. Everyone is welcome.
