FORMER Talgarth and Brecon seam bowler Huw Griffiths has inspired Talybont-on-Usk to promotion in their first competitive season since 1990.
Griffiths has snapped up 25 wickets at a cost of 12.20 runs in Talybont’s GB Liners Marches League Division Four title triumph.
His step-son Dan Bowen has cracked 528 league runs, including an unbeaten 176, while Lewis Deacon (23 wickets) has also weighed in.
Glangrwyney and Canon Frome & Marden head into the final round of matches battling to avoid the drop from Division One.
Third-bottom Glangrwyney, who travel to already-relegated Ledbury, have a seven-point cushion over Canon Frome. Second-bottom Canon Frome visit Kington in their final fixture.
