A HISTORIC barn will be open to the public with free admission as part of a heritage project.

The Croft Barn at White Castle Vineyard, near to Abergavenny, will be open for visitors with The Heritage Lottery Fund Wine and Heritage Alive in Monmouthshire project.

The 16th century cruck trussed threshing barn, which boasts rare wattle panels, is in Llanvetherine.

Free admission open afternoons will be held between 2pm and 4pm every Friday from April 29 to September 30.

There is parking and toilet facilities at the barn which is close to White Castle, one of the three castles on the Three Castles Walk.
