A LEOMINSTER man stole four joints of meat from a supermarket.

Warren Jewell of Middlemarsh pleaded guilty to theft from a shop.

Hereford Magistrates' Court heard on February 28 the 45-year-old stole £24.33-worth of meat from Aldi in Leominster.

The meat was returned as he was caught by security staff.

He admitted he had breached a conditional discharge given to him in June last year.

The court heard he hoped to be selected for a rehabilitation centre and was currently homeless and staying at friends' homes.

He is also receiving a methadone prescription.

Magistrates fined him £30 and another £30 for the breach. He was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
