HEREFORD bounced back well from last week's thumping at Swindon by thrashing Lydney 6-0.

The city side, who lost 5-0 to their Wiltshire opponents last time out, sit ninth in Conference North after the comprehensive victory over the bottom club.

The same couldn't be said for Leominster, though, who were hammered 9-0 at table-toppers Wotton-under-Edge.

The heavy loss means the north Herefordshire club remain second-bottom, ten points ahead of Lydney.

In De Cymru and The Marches 2, Ross-on-Wye kept up the pressure on leaders Cheltenham 2nd by beating Bridgend 2nd 4-2.

An entertaining game in The Marches 1 saw Leominster 2nd draw 3-3 with Stroud 2nd - a result which keeps the Herefordshire side in mid-table.

Ross 2nd's came out on top in a nine-goal thriller at Stroud 3rd in The Marches 2, winning 5-4 to keep them fifth.

In the West Clubs' Women's League, Hereford had a day to forget, losing 6-0 at home to table-toppers Newent.

There was better news in North Division for Leominster who beat bottom-placed Wotton under Edge 5-1.

The county's two representatives in Severn Division 1 came away from their respective away games with nothing to show for their efforts.

Hereford 2nd lost 6-0 at East Glos, with Colwall & Malvern were on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline at Newent 2nd.

There was better news in Severn Division 2 though as Ross beat Bretforton 2nd 1-0, while Colwall and Malvern 2nd lost 5-0 at Painswick in Severn Division 3.

In South Wales Hockey League's Premier 2, Presteigne beat Barry 5-2. Kington won 2-1 at Brecon in Division One.
