THIS year's Ross Rotary community Christmas party took place at the Larruperz centre on December 5 and was attended by around 80 guests. The excellent entertainment this year was provided initially by 11 year old Maya Carter who, unaccompanied, sang songs ranging from Second World War favourites like the White Cliffs of Dover to Christmas favourites and songs from West End musicals. Her beautiful voice and excellent singing was enthusiastically appreciated by all who heard her. Afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes was followed by a performance from the Ross Choristers who, conducted by Josie O'Driscoll, sang some joyful Christmas standards, including a delightful Christmas medley, as well as a selection of popular songs from musicals delivered as solo and choral performances.

The final event of the afternoon was the usual bumper Christmas raffle, ending with exuberant community carol singing led by the Ross Rotary Club choristers.

Judging from the many appreciative comments, everyone appeared to have a very enjoyable time. Ross Rotary sends an enormous thank you to all those who performed as well as to those who helped behind the scenes providing sandwiches, cakes, and raffle prizes, which contributed to making this annual event the resounding success it undoubtedly was.
