KINGTON artist Ronald Swanwick is having an exciting 2007 - having been chosen for two major events in the art world - and an exhibition at his gallery offers an opportunity to see new pieces from an artist who has had a lifelong obsession with painting and drawing.

The first success of the year was learning that he had been chosen by a top gallery in the heart of the cultural quarter of Venice to be one of their featured artists during the forthcoming Biennale season.

La Biennale di Venezzia is a major international contemporary art show which, this year, runs from June 10 to November 21. Ronald is excited about being exhibited in Venice as it is a city he visits as often as he can. "I particularly enjoy working from life there, especially during dusk and at night," he says.

Ronald's work has also been featured on one of the biggest stands at the Affordable Art Fair in London this year. Hampshire-based Neville Contemporary Art chose his latest collection of work, City Squares, for display at the high-profile event.

The exhibition at The Stable Gallery in Kington runs until Thursday, May 3, from 10am to 6pm. For details, call 01544 230871 or visit www.ronswanwick.co.uk
