THE time has come for the Year 6 class of Mordiford Primary school to face the big wide world of senior school.
As four year olds they joined the school in September 2008 with 17 original reception children. Since then six new children have joined the group and these 23 youngsters are now about to embark on a whole new exciting adventure.
The rural school has been their home for seven happy years, the children have grown and developed in a welcoming atmosphere, maturing into knowledgeable, confident and friendly personalities.
This week Pentaloe class have presented the school with a gift to remember the class of 2015.
A weather vane has been handcrafted and designed by Dorset Weathervanes in the form of the school's logo the Mordiford Dragon.
The dragon was chosen to represent the village legend which is still part of Mordiford today.
It now towers above the school and will watch over the playground for years to come.
The end of a year and the end of an era will be rewarded by a leavers service, a performance, a leavers treat afternoon and a Year 6 leavers party with lots of exciting activities and celebrations planned.
