VILLAGERS at Ambridge, the fictional village in BBC Radio 4's 'The Archers', turned to a Leominster-based conservation charity for advice on looking after their churchyard in an eco-friendly way.
Caring for God's Acre, a charity set up to promote 'green' care of churchyards in the Hereford Diocese, was contacted by Archers producers to help develop a story line.
COFG organiser Andrea Gilpin said the group was delighted to get an "on air" plug for the work it was doing during a recent episode of the long-running soap.
The conservation group is currently staging courses on the ancient art of lime mortaring at Dormington Churchyard.
