SOPRANO Virginia Blakey returns to the Savoy to perform in another of the popular Sunday afternoon ‘Tea With’ series, created to raise awareness and funding for performers with visual impairments. Tea With Verdi: is a dramatic and musical presentation of the great composer’s life, loves and music, his story told through the eyes of Guiseppina Strepponi, his wife and companion of 50 years.

Earlier this summer, 'Tea with Jane Eyre' featured some fine performances from Susanna McCleary, blind singer and violinist, who will also be performing in Tea with Verdi. Susanna was trained at the Royal National College for the Blind, joining Virginia Blakey, director of the project that develops assistive technology for the blind, and the writer and producer of 'Tea with Verdi'. Virginia, a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music, met Susanna through her teaching work at the RNC.
