A CIVIC delegation from Husum will be in Kidderminster for the public First World War commemoration service in St Mary's Church on Sunday, September 28, at 3pm.
Uwe Schmitz, the current Burgermeister of the German town, will be accompanied on his first visit to Wyre Forest by the former Burgermeister and long-standing supporter of the twinning concept Rainer Maass.
Arriving on Friday, September 26, the Germans will be welcomed by the Mayor of Kidderminster Mike Price in his town hall parlour before a reception dinner with the Charter Trustees.
A visit to the Museum of Carpet, a trip on the Severn Valley Railway and a skittles evening will entertain the party on Saturday, then on Sunday the visitors will take part in the ceremony which is open to members of the public.
Sunday evening, Wyre Forest District Council will put on a formal dinner for the European guests before they fly home on Monday, September 29.
