A KIDDERMINSTER pub has received an accolade from Wyre Forest CAMRA.

The Weavers at Park Lane was named pub of the season for summer 2014 by the district branch of the campaign for real ale.

Members of the club and the Mayor of Kidderminster gathered at the establishment and presented the landlords Jeff Ide and Lisa Harvey with a certificate.

Nick Yarwood, chairman of Wyre Forest CAMRA, said: “Our members were swayed by The Weavers at Park Lane’s sun terrace overlooking the canal - great for enjoying a refreshing summer beer.

“They were also impressed by the constantly changing variety of ciders and beers in tip-top condition.

“It is a great community asset for Kidderminster and the award is very well deserved.”

Mayor of Kidderminster, Mike Price, commented: “The Weavers at Park Lane is good for the local community, bringing people together for conversation without noise, music and other distractions.

“I’m really impressed with what Jeff and Lisa have achieved since it opened in April and I wish them well.”
