LUDLOW MP Philip Dunne has thanked Shropshire Young Farmers for their efforts to support flood relief for farmers in need.
Members of Young Farmers clubs across the UK have been helping supply hay, straw and other donations to farmers in need in flood stricken areas.
Members of Shropshire Young Farmers assembled yesterday at Ludlow Livestock Market to drive seven tractors and trailers with supplies down to Somerset, delivering 110 tons of hay and straw to farmers in need.
Mr Dunne said: “I congratulate Shropshire Young Farmers for their efforts to help fellow farmers in flood affected areas in the south west.
"Fresh feed, hay and straw are vital to farmers in flooded areas where land may not be available for pasture, so these supplies will really help ensure their animals can be fed.
"This initiative highlights the excellent and often imaginative community work that Young Farmers do not just in Shropshire but right across the UK.”
