MEN, mums and bumps from around the county have gone before the camera to raise funds for local causes.

23-year-old Ricky Lock sparked a local online crazy back in July when he took a number of photos of himself, and after people from across the county followed his lead, the idea was suggested that a Ricky Lock Pose calendar be created.

That calendar is now complete and on sale with all funds from the sales split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Leominster Museum.

Ricky said: “I feel chuffed now that the calendar is finished and can go on to make money for charity.

“I think this was a great way for the whole community to come together and it just goes to show that people do care enough to help people who need it most – I feel as if we should all be proud of ourselves.”

Two-year-old Freddie Saunders – who was injured in a crash near Nordan last month – is currently being treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital which Ricky said has triggered more interest.

And one of the organisers – Lee Kinsey – said that there has been a high demand for the calendars and depending on further interest there could be another made with different photos.

They are on sale for £5 at Shooters Bar in Leominster, Aladdins, Ice Refrigeration and by emailing lee.kinsey@ice-refrigeration.co.uk

Sam Sallis is another Leominster resident who is raising funds for a local cause.

Her son Oliver died suddenly in December 2011 when he was seven weeks old and since then, Sam has been raising funds in his memory.

When she fell pregnant last year with daughter Amelia, Sam decided to get 11 other pregnant mums together for a charity mums and bumps 2014 calendar which will go on sale tomorrow (Friday).

Priced at £8, all funds raised will go to the Special Care Baby Unit at Hereford Hospital, helping people from all corners of the county.

Sam said: “If more money is made for the unit, more people can be helped. I want to thank everyone who has contributed in the last year. If it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be raising all this money.”

The calendar will be on sale in Leominster’s Stepping Stones, Central Bakery, Honey Bees Day Nursery, the Coningsby Centre, through Oliver's Rainbow Facebook page and from NKM Photography Studio in Morris Mews.

They will also be available to buy from the Christmas fair at the Royal Oak Hotel in Leominster on Saturday between 11am and 4pm or by calling Sam on 07875769046.
