A HEREFORD b-boy will be breakdancing alongside genuine bone-breakers at the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Saturday.
Daniel ‘B-boy Didge’ Ovel – who got his start with Hereford’s 2Faced Dance Company before going on to become one of the UK’s top breakdancers – will be part of the on-pitch entertainment at the Wembley double-header featuring England v Australia and New Zealand v Fiji.
As well as tearing up pitches and dancefloors across the country, ‘Celeb’ Didge’s company, Dirty Feet, organises some of the country’s biggest b-boy competitions, giving UK dancers the opportunity to qualify for international events of their own.
The former St Mary’s High School student recently returned from Scandinavia, back on stage with his old crew for a short stint on 2Faced’s hugely successful ‘Out of His Skin’ tour.
And, having hosted a 'Floor Wars' qualifying battle in Newport last weekend, New Zealand’s Maori war dance might look a little tame in comparison.
