MORE people in the county now know basic life-saving skills after St John Ambulance took to the streets of Hereford.

The charity’s annual Save a Life event was held in High Town – and saw volunteers demonstrate five easy-to-follow life-saving techniques.

They also gave out 380 free pocket-sized first aid guides for people to carry in case of emergency.

Sam Lukes, regional community training coordinator at St John Ambulance, said: “Learning first aid is one of the single most important things you can do in your life, so it was great to find so many people in Hereford interested in learning what to do in an emergency.

“The first aid guides are a useful reference that people can keep with them in case they ever need to use first aid.”
