A LIFE-SAVING county appeal has been given a boost thanks to two philanthropists.
Cobalt – a charity that supports people affected by cancer and other lifelimiting conditions – has been given a cheque for £25,000 from the Clive Richards Charity.
This was in recognition of Cobalt’s ‘Clear About Breast Cancer Herefordshire Appeal’, coordinated in partnership with Wye Valley NHS Trust.
The appeal – which is now nearing completion – has raised tens of thousands of pounds to help fund digital breast screening equipment for the County Hospital.
Peter Sharpe, chief executive of Cobalt, said: “On behalf of Cobalt and everyone we help, I wish to extend my heart-felt thanks to Mr and Mrs Richards.”
The cheque puts Cobalt closer to achieving its £160,000 target, with around £137,000 currently in the equipment pot.
