OPEN GARDEN - The garden at Woodview, Great Doward, the home of Janet and Clive Townsend, will be open in aid of NGS charities on Sunday from 1pm-6pm. Come and enjoy an afternoon in a beautiful garden and take afternoon tea provided by St Dubricius’s churchwomen.
The gardens have both formal and informal areas stretching over two acres. There are herbaceous borders, a hosta collection, shrubs and seasonal bedding, with gently sloping lawns, all in a woodland setting. Croquet, clock golf and other garden games will be available, and there will be a plant stall. Entrance is £3.50 for adults, children free, with disabled access. Dogs on leads, please. The postcode is HR9 6DZ and it will be signposted from Whitchuch village.
