AYMESTREY FETE - Takes place this Saturday in the orchard behind the parish hall starting at 1pm. There will be stalls and games, including a tombola, whack the rat, cakes, local produce, coconuts, and bowling for a pig. There will also be arena events, such as children’s races, the fun dog show and, of course, the tug-of-war. The schedule for the produce competition and the dog show rules can be found on the back page of the recent edition of Aymestrey Matters. The produce competition will be held in a marquee in the orchard. It will be open for entries at 12.45pm and closed at 1.30pm. Judging will start at 1.45pm. The marquee will be re-opened for viewing the entries as soon as judging is complete.

Entries will be on display until at least 3.30pm, after which they can be removed. If you leave before then, please make arrangements for your entry to be taken home by someone else.

Volunteers are needed to help tomorrow (Friday) when the larger marquees will be set up. Please meet at the parish hall at 10.30am.

Cakes for the produce stall and the tea tent can be delivered on the day of the fete. Contacts for donations for other stalls are Meg Thorpe 780384, Ruth Scamp 709031, Ken Holland 770367.
