PARISH PLAN - In spite of the low spirits induced by the late spring, Clehonger residents have continued to work hard on the Parish Plan, and are hoping by mid-summer to have produced a questionnaire to find out the views of all the village on what they want for the future of the parish. The playing field group has had two sets of plans for improvement and is awaiting another two. Once a clear choice of design and quote is possible it will be embarking on fund-raising through grants and local efforts.

In the meantime some sports equipment including a basketball hoop has been acquired through a grant. The housing group has had a discussion with Kat leTsar from a West Midlands housing association and has nearly completed questions for the questionnaire.

The transport group has also pulled together its questions. The environment group has had a general discussion about issues, including a useful meeting with local expert on sustainability, Richard Priestley, and is now also working on questions to ask the local community.

A different approach to services was agreed at the March steering group, and individual meetings with providers of local services are under way, looking at the present strengths, challenging issues and potential for development.

Plus of course, a spin off from the plan enjoyed by all - a fish and chip van fortnightly at Innesfield on Wednesdays. A good meeting place to catch up on local news.

FUTURE MEETINGS SCHEDULED - All at 7.30pm at Innesfield. Steering group today (Thursday), environment focus group Monday, playing field focus group next Thursday, May 16.

All residents of the parish of Clehonger are very welcome to attend any meeting simply to find out what is going on, or to offer to help.
