A ROSS-on-Wye care home that was closed down 18 months ago has been sold.
The Chestnuts was a central part of the town for more than 20 years, but its trustees and Herefordshire Council decided to close it in August 2011 after it could not indentify an alternative arrangement.
The property subsequently lose its licence to operate as a residental care home.
However, a sale has now been agreed and a contract signed.
The new owner of The Chestnuts has since submitted a planning application to the council to restore the property to a family residence along with creating five new homes on the site.
