The interactive performance of Vamos Theatre’s Sharing Joy returns to The Courtyard this month.

A theatre show, created especially for people living with dementia and their carers, Sharing Joy uses a combination of music, mask, dance nostalgia, puppetry and laughter, to bring pleasure and meaning to everyone involved.

Set in the 1940s and 1950s, the show features courting couples, wartime nurses, a singing dog and even Elvis himself. Sharing Joy is enhanced by music from the eras to evoke memories, dancing to enjoy and join in with, beautiful costumes and hand crafted masks.

Sharing Joy creates an environment in which those living with dementia can reconnect with culture and take part in something meaningful. For carers, Sharing Joy promotes knowledge, training and skill building.

It’s a playful and joyous show that encourages everyone to take part, to express themselves and make connections.

Sharing Joy will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Wednesday, July 25 at 11am. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
